I am a 48 year old woman that has had this bad backache for the last three weeks and just in the last two days it has been much worse and I have been getting severe chest tightness. any ideas?

Could be kidneys. I don't know WHERE yur backache is so I can't really tell. Go to the emergency room, pee in a cup and do a blood sample. Possible Xray as well. They will be able to tell you exactly what it is. Depends on where in your back it hurts, could be heart too! Could be VERY serious or nothing to worry about. but don't worry until after you have the ER look at you ok? And don't worry about the bill. They write off peoples bills all the time. They won't turn you away, its illegal, so go NOW!

Get your butt to an Emergency Room NOW.
Symptoms for heart attack in women can be weird and this doesn't sound so far off......

if you have money see a doc.if not try water pills to get rid of excess water.
