I believe that man was BORN a soul, not that he HAS one. Animals in the Bible were also described as souls, and we know that they do not have a soul that leaves their body at death and goes somewhere else. In Genesis 2:7 it describes how "man came to be a living soul" and at Leviticus 17:14 the Bible says that the "soul of the flesh is the blood", so we can see that the soul is not something seperate from us that can go on after we die. Ecclesiastes 5:19,20 says "...all are going to one place. They have all come to be from the dust and they are all returning to the dust" and at 9:5,6 says "for the living are conscious that they will die, but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all..."
So we can see that the 'soul' dies when we do. Others believe in a soul that immediately at death goes either to heaven or hell...but if those same folks believe in a resurrection, then I don't understand...what would be the point of a resurrection if we all go somewhere when we die? I believe the memory of us goes back to God and during the resurrection both righteous and unrighteous will be given a chance at life again here on earth. (Psalms 37:28,29 remind us that mankind was meant to be here on earth!)

I do believe in soul(but not in in any religious sense).
My belief is based on reasoning. Consider this: All human feeling are completely internal and are not possible to describe. Two people might say that they feel pain in the left knee -- but how do we know that their pain is the same? This question is not resolvable by science. Even if one were to understand the brain perfectly -- on would still not experience what the owner of the brain experiences.
Consider the case of color-blind neurosurgeon. He might know everything about perception of color -- he might know varying there is to know about color. YET he will never to know what it is like to perceive color.
So brain states are not the same as the state of MIND or perceptions. So if the perceptions are not the states of the brain -- what are they? we don't know what it is -- But i like to believe that the mind states come from immaterial soul -- whatever it is,.

i think there is a soul. i see it like a piece of mist around our hearts, but that`s just my imagination. i don´t think it actually exists in such a form, in any visible form. a soul is what we are, our inner taughts and concerns, and when we die, a soul is what is left behind, the memories of us that continue to live in the minds and hearts of those who we left.

I believe that everyone has a conscience, but I don't think that it's the same thing, however there is the possibility of an astral body depending on what yo would view that to be.
I'm not sure that this is a good answer, but it is the only thing that comes to mind having anything to do with the question. Ultimately I don't think anyone can truly answer that for you except maybe you.

Now this will depend if your answerer has a religion.coz if he or she hasn't then that person will never believe that a soul exist within us. As a person with a religion, Yes I truly believe that we have souls within us. God created us humans in this world with a purpose, we are not created to be just nothing like all other living things in this world. Now heres a question, Do you think that if you will die, your mortal body will be the one going into judgement on whether you go to hell or heaven?? If ur answer here is yes, then why is human mortal body deteriorates or spoil in the grave after death? Don't you get it? Once you die ur earthly mortal body remains here on earth just like all the things you have left behind namely ur money, assets, family, love ones etc..they too will also perish someday after ur death. So now as ur religion tells you, do you think you will just die like a useless battery without any purpose? Of Course No!!! Now thats when "The Soul" comes in. When you die ur mortal body will be dead but your soul will live as decreed by God himself. It is your soul that will face judgement, it is your soul that will taste the tranquility in heaven or the torment in hell...Now what is that soul? It is you my friend u urself is that soul..Our mortal body is just a medium of our souls just like our eyes is the medium of our sight..Through this body, we, as souls in it, learns that the purpose we are here on Earth is to make a life's journey, a journey in this world that will make us understand our destiny in the hereafter. That is God's purpose..Do Good and Avoid Evil and your reward is heaven, Enjoy doing Evil and ignore doing good and ur destination is Hell..Now we all know this for we are in a journey and by God's power he let us know what is right and what is wrong, it is Decreed by God before the first human is created..Now from this, it is we, as souls inside a mortal body that chooses that two paths laid upon us by God---The right way & The wrong way...CHOOSE WELL MY FRIEND!

Nobody can answer this question with anything but their opinion, as the existance of souls has been neither proven nor disproven.
I, personally, don't believe in the concept of souls.

absolutely, we have souls. I think all living things contain a spirit/soul. We as a people are to busy (in general) to reach out and feel with our souls. There is a connectedness amongst living things. You can feel it if you try.

The soul is the center of awareness in a person. Its qualities are no size, and consciousness. A simpler way of posing the same question is:
"Is there a center of awareness in a person? And if so, what are its essential qualities?"
Good question.
