You would need to talk to a specialist or to a dermatologist, but I would imagine that the nail itself is weakened. All those chemicals can't be good for long term use. Some time ago when I was wearing false nails it turned my own nails light red. Also you need to beware of contacting a fungus from unclean implements.

In my opinion acrylic does not damaging your nails. Only when you are removing them. As acetone will take your acrylic off with your natural nails somehow. If you think your nails are fine with it after removing acrylic then wait the next day how fragile or flexible they are. If you got ridges all over your nails then that s the cause of your acrylic. Ridges caused by too much filing or rubbing your nails. But also looking at your health condition as well.

They pretty much chop up your nail beds, and your actual nail starts turn become a little discolored. But my real nails usually grow back pretty quick and go back to normal.

There Very soft and bendable, so the only thing you can do is get a silk wrap which lets the nails breath better than acrylics

It just files them down to almost paper thin. As long as they keep filing only the part that grew in, new you'll be ok.
