Nicole Kidman never had to take off any of her clothes to win an oscar like Halle berry did. Denzel won an Oscar for trainig day in which he played a crooked and violent cop. Why can't people of color win an award for something that isn't sterotypical?

All down through history black women play important parts. Slaves Lovers maids nanny's and today it is still the same. What parts would you like them to play? Action hero like Foxy cleopatra in austin powers? How bout Storm in X men 3. Or the angels in charlie angles. Would you like them to play a comedic roll like queen latifa in bringing down the house. How bout a sci-fi roll like J-lo in the cell? Your question is crap. Women play many roles other than sexual roles in hollywood. What parts would you like them to play to win ocars? Did you ever see Radio? Was that a sterotypical role for cuba? You have mentioned some very pretty women in absolutely terrible movies!!!! Alfrie Woodard is one woman who plays many roles. Oprah Winfrey, in "The Color Purple" wasn't only sexy., Ruby Dee played what she was, strong older women roles. I think your premise is slightly flawed but point taken: many men associate dark-skinned women with sexiness. Which can be true, but is bad to saddle all women of color with that. Congresswoman Barbara Lea is pretty but far more important as a legislator than a sex symbol. San Francisco D.DA. Kamala Harris is beautiful!!!! And a phenomennal D.A.

ah come-on its the role of all women in movies,, its just that the most attractive women right now are of color,, and i mean all of them,, its not that the others cant be sexy, its just that the ones id like to run away with are lucy liu, angelina berry ,and so on ,beyonce is hot anyway .and so ,whats the problem, more folks get good money for ACTING sexy ,,thats wrong nah ,its probably a race problem you have ,,like if a good looking woman is in bed with the white guy in the movie,, but see they got your undivided attention, and they win,, you've been drawn into their plan to make you look ,,,its called programing ,,,just relax theres no conspiracy to degrade anyone ,,,its about entertaining everyone for a few minutes,, in a world of sorrows and pain,, why look for the problem ,,Bless God they have a place to work and a meaning for their lives

Women of color? No offense, because I was, but am I of no color because Im white? I believe I am sort of peachish tan color. Even still though, i guess they choose whether they want to do it or not, and also....I have seen many PEACH women playing sexual roles too.

Black women are not always playing sexual roles in movies. I've seen many movies where white women played the sexual roles! Women in general are chosen for sexual roles in movies! It sells well! It's not a race thing!!

Notice that those examples involve white men? Maybe hollywood's got some sort of jungle fever issue going on? Or maybe they're trying to capitalize on the increasing trend of interracial romance that is permeating our culture. Either way.

well, first of all j lo isnt a woman of color. She is lighter then most white people. Also, you only named like 3 movies. There are tons of movies where women of color play every kind of roll imaginable.

because if your a black women and want to act youll have to settle for a sexual role...unless your wanda sykes. then you can land a non sexual role
