Healthcare for all - is a must.

If healthcare is left off to market forces, its the young and the old who'll suffer. Market forces require you to produce something in return for goods and services that you can consume. The young and the old - will have to depend on family. For many - especially old - there's no family. American culture is to separate from parents as soon as one is able to. And once your' old, you really cannot work too much.

Insurance model is not an answer. Insurance is also under market forces, and are required to maximize profit. So, anyone can see that insurance companies also would like to be in markets that maximize return, and minimize risks. So, insurance for old would be non-existing, or too expensive (it is now today) - because thats were the risks are. Once one is past 40, one is more likely to have sugar, suffer from heart, kidney bone and in fact a host of other problems. Why would insurance companies want to be in that market?

End result - a weaker and desease prone younger generation - the future, and a deseased older population.

Healthcare in US is already becoming a mess, with the few on top siphoning away huge profits from it. This situation cannot continue for long.

I don't want a government run health insurance program. Look at Canada and how their system works. It doesn't work very well. I do think however, that a program that everyone can buy into, just like we do with our jobs, for those whose jobs don't offer it would be a good thing. Individual health insurance is expensive if you don't have a large group to help bring down the average cost.

Vermont has recently instituted state-wide socialized health care for all residents of the state. I'll reserve my opinion until I see how it works out.

We already do, you just have to pay for it. If you honestly can not pay ,you still get treated. drug companies give away medications to those that need help.
Do you really want government running your medical plan?
Do you want your taxes to double to pay for it.
How about some BURRO-CRAT deciding if you need an operation?

Ofcause. It's the moral and right thing to do. While republicans claim that they are "ethical", they tend to be against this. Flip-floppers!
