Speaking as a buddhist who was formerly a catholic, I am very happy with the beliefs and moral system of Buddhism. As several other answerers have stated, it's a very peaceful religion with little or no extremism. The common misconception is that we "worship" buddha (or as some call him, the big fat bald guy you see at chinese restuarants). The truth is that we look to Buddha (there are several actually) as a teacher to guide us to the path of enlightenment. And that path is mostly all about compassion for others and the idea that desire is the cause of all pain and suffering in the world. It's sort of a "be happy with what you have" concept. If you have more questions, I'd be more than happy to answer them. Have a nice day!

It seems like one of the most peaceful and loving religions in the world. If I didn't believe in Jesus, I would love to become a Buddist.

well i went bc i was curious and i knew someone that was a buddist and i did not want to judge...
well i felt so uncomfortable, it was horible, like a cult, they all humed at the same time and bowed to the timple. no way you are not suppose to worship other thing. i believe if you truly trust and have faith in god you will stand up for him. be the christian you are and pray really hard for him. i will pray for yall also.

Sorry but some fat, short, bald headed idol with his belly showing doesn't cut it for me. I have better things to do than worship some false idol. Seriously now!

If you have to follow a religion or philosophy, that is probably the best one.
