Yeah they totally weigh more!!!

I feel stupider for having read that question.

I am going to guess that information doesn't weigh that much, so even if the iPod was chock full of songs, it wouldn't make a noticeable difference in the weight...

It's not a TERRIBLE question, though... I mean, you would think 15,000 songs would be heavy...

No. Because they're not "full" of music. The music is made up of 0s and 1, ie combinations of millions of tiny "switches" either in an "on" or "off" position. Whether they are on or off is immaterial.

come on people, just because somebody asks what seems a stupid question to us, doesnt mean that we should go saying things like 'are you retarded?' Christ, this maybe just be an 8 year old or something. In answer, as people have already said, no it doesnt weigh any more, because it is electronic data there for have no physical existance (as such)

Dear Wiggy, this had me chuckling. Surely a spoof to see just how many wise ones were prepared to share their infinite wisdom on digital music files? Full marks to you.

the music info, just reagranges bit of magnetic information already on the disc - so no weight change.
Althought the ipod may change its center of gravity , since information is being moved around - good luck detecting it

MUCH heavier! I can hardly lift mine now. I had to delete Beethoven's 9th symphony recently because the only way I could move it was in a shopping trolley!
