im a girl and i play baseball. i didnt want to play softball cuz i like pitching and i hate the way you have to pitch in softball.. i get along with the guys great and i can compete with them but is that gunna make guys just consider me the "friend type" instead of the "girlfriend type?" i am a tomboy but i still can be a girly girl!

It's perfectly OK to play ball with the guys. And no they won't all consider you the "friend type" rather than the "girlfriend type". The ones you play ball with might consider you "one of the guys" for a while, but eventually they will notice the girly girl side of you. (I played football with guys in high school)

Maybe. Depends on what league your gunna play with the guys. If you wanna play like minor leagues, high school, college, or major leagues girls should not be playing with guys in those leagues. But other than that i would proudly say yes. Cause i kinda agree it is wierd how softball players pitch. And the fields are too short for pro softball players. The fields for pro softball players are as big as 13 and 14 year old boys baseball fields!

Ok I did not play baseball I did play softball (catcher 26 years), however I played football, it was kinda hard at first, I have always been a tomboy and competitive. When I was in middle school they all thought I was a lesbian, and just one of the guys. But after all the razzing and torment I went through I stuck it out and they got to know I was actually a girl, it just got harder to date because instead of just having my one brother at home I had 30 other brothers watching over me to make sure I never got hurt by any guy. it was kinda net and came in handy in a few times! Have fun if you like baseball don't let something like that stand in your way, if a guy does not want to date you for you then he is not worth your time anyway!!

i am soooooo in the same boat as you i also play baseball and softball im on the varsity baseball and softball teams and i am also a tomboy i even made the team mvp in both teams i really wondered if the guys wud just think of me as a friend instead of a girlfriend type but later i found out that they all preferred me instead of all the other girls because i was so easy to get a long with all the boys came up to me and told me that they liked me and asked me to pick one of them as my boy friend to this day just stay true to who u really are the boys WIll like you for who u really are and i bet if you get along great with them that means they just like you maybe you have to make the first move because they think what ur thinking- that she wont like me because were just friends and he probably just give up! make a move dont be embarrassed and stay true to who u really are!! good luck!!!

We had a girl on one of the teams I played for when I was about 16. Now... when you're younger (12 or 13 even) there are a few girls that play... but at 16 and 17, she was the only girl in the league.
She was actually a decent player. She was nowhere near the best on the team... but she -WAS- better than a couple of the guys we had... and on top of that, she was cute.
She was actually dating one of the guys on one of the other teams in the league... so I don't think it affected her social life much.

I think if that is what makes you happy go for it.. You will find someone that likes you for you so dont worry.. I played both softball and baseball I am married with two kids now so no worrys

I have known more then a few girls who played Baseball....
it takes a special type of girl to play with the boys........
In time the will think of you in the g-friend way but for now they probaly think of you as one of the guys.......

You rock. In our town girls are not allowed to play baseball but Im used to playing sftball now. You can b anything you wanna a be one day girly girly and one day sporty it doesnt matter.

They will think of you as one of the guys, but they will probably like you more than other girls because you understand baseball..better than other girls. I am sure some will ask you to the prom.

A female can play any sport just as well or better than any male can, so enjoy yourself and don't listen to the negative comments you might receive!
