I've had my tattoo for almost a week and nothing has happened? I've added the a and d ointment for about 4 days now. I have my name in cursive about 6 inches long. I was wondering if tattoo size matters when it comes to healing or is too small for it to heal?

Once the scab falls off. Don't peel it or scratch it off. Usually takes about five days depending on your skin. I used A&D ointment to keep mine from itching so much and was told to keep it exposed so that it could heal faster. Keep a watch on it and if nothing happens still call the tattoo parlor and ask them for advice.

It takes about a week or two to heal... however every body has a different type of healing.. if in doubt call the tattoo parlor or your doctor. As long as it in not red all around, like with an infection coming on, you should be ok~ It also depends where on your body your tattoo is at... some body parts take longer to heal~

The size of the tattoo has nothing to do with how long it will take to heal. Some tattoos scab alot, some not at all.

Just following the instructions you were given and everything will be fine.

It will probably take longer than a week to totally heal. You will know it is healed when there is no more scabbing on it. If you are concerned about it, call the place you got the tattoo from and ask them how long it will take.

First of all don't use A&D it will pull out the color if your going to put anything on it use Bacitrain if anything. Remember A&D is antibacteria it is made to take things that don't belong in your skin in out. Also you only need to put a light layer on it. Don't over do it. You should be washing it once in the morning and once at night with warm soapy water. DON'T RUB. It can take up to 2-3 wks depending on how you heal. It's like a cut or scratch. I have had 2 tattos and my first from 8 yrs ago is still as bright as day one. Also remember to put sun lotion on it if it is in a spot where the sun can get to it or it will fade quick.

Your tatoo will start to peel off (like a scab) and not be puffy/raised anymore. I was advised to only use the ointment for about 4-5 days.
