im pretty sure its a book and its called "the white pages"....

I don't know about freeware, but you can look people up on the web for free. The site that I use is anywho (www.anywho.com). You need a name and a city, and the site can return a phone number (if one is listed) and an address. It's not foolproof, but it has worked most of the times that I've tried it. The major drawback is that you have to know what city to search in.

Well, there is acutally a site called whitepages.com...It much easier that trying to freaking dig through a dumb book. And it's free!!!

TRY in your search engine find anyone anywhere or melissa data.com there are more i found my friend this way.
