Yes, I took Prozac while pregnant with 2 out of 4 kids. They were fine. Just as long as your doctor knows!

I had a nervous breakdown 3 years ago and have been on meds sense that time but when I became pregnant my doctor had me stop all meds for anxiety and depression due to the risk to the baby
I agree I would rather risk another breakdown and go in the hospital then hurt my unborn child

My psychiatrist told me that being depressed while pregnant can cause more damage than taking the medication. I was on an anti depressant for nearly the whole pregnancy and my son is fine. Ask your OB for a referral to a shrink that deals with pregnant women.

I am pregnant with my 4th and when I get pregnant it seems around my 7th month i get realy depressed and upset. I am on Effexer right now and that has been helping. although I think welbutrin was the best one. My kids are fine and healthy the oldest is 5 and has only been sick including colds etc 2 times inher life. Same with the boys.

Nope. You can only take selective medicines while pregnant. Heck, I can't even have Advil for my bad back and migraines. Talk to your doctor soon and see if you should continue any antidepressants. If you're not already on them, you most likely will not be permitted to start any new ones. Once again, talk to you doctor.
As for after the baby's born, it's quite common for some women to go on antidepressants for post-partum depression anyway, so you shouldn't have a problem then if you need them.

I had the worst depression and mood swings throughout my pregnancy...but i didn't take medication for that. Whenever i got irritated... i used to meditate and chant "its normal....its normal...its normal" and its better to stay calm else u wud transfer the same thing to ur little one. My girl was so much fussy as I was real irritated throughout my pregnancy! So watch out... stay calm :)
