1) when you are multiplying them together, just add the exponents. m^5
2) x^2 / x^5 is the same as (xx) / (xxxxx), so simplify it by removing 2 x's from each side, and you have 1 / (xxx) which equals 1/x^3
3) 0.00317 = 3.17 x 10^-3 to do a problem like this just count how many places you have to move the decimal to get it with only one number on the left. If you have to move it to the right, then the answer is 10^ negative how many places you counted. If you move it to the left, it's 10^ positive.
4)
2.3(10 ^ -2) times 4.1(10^-3)
(2.3)(4.1)(10^-2)(10^-3)
(2.3)(4.1)(10^-5)
(9.43)(10^-5)
9.43 x 10^-5
5) hmmm, it's been a really long time, but i believe the degree of the equation is the highest exponent, so 4th degree?
6) first multiply every number inside the first parenthesis together with the numbers in the second set of parenthesis, then simplify.
(3y^2 - 7y + 4) (2y^2 + 3y - 2)
(3y^2)(2y^2) + (3y^2)(3y) + (3y^2)(-2) + (-7y)(2y^2) + (-7y)(3y) + (-7y)(-2) +(4)(2y^2) + (4)(3y) + (4)(-2)
6y^4 + 9y^3 - 6y^2 - 14y^3 - 21y^2 + 14y + 8y^2 + 12y - 8
(6y^4) + (9y^3 - 14y^3) - (6y^2 - 21y^2 + 8y^2) + (14y + 12y) - 8
6y^4 - 5y^3 - 19y^2 +26y - 8
use that same principle to do 7 and 8, they are the same line of thought, just easier.
that's all i've got, i should be working, not doing algebra.

The answers are:
1) m^5
2) x^-3
3)3.17 x 10^-3
4) 9.43 x 10^-5
5) 4th degree
6)Find the sum of the two polynomials:
To be consistent with the word description, you should have written it as
(3y^2 - 7y +4) + (2y^2 + 3y - 2)
Answer: 5y^2 - 4y + 2
7) 6y^3 + 6y^2 + 4y + 4
8) x^2 - 2x +1
9) 8x^2 + 2
10) ( x + 10 )
I won't work out the problems for you in case you are trying to get someone to do your homework for you.

1.) m^5 you have to add the exponents when the base numbers are the same
2.) x^3 if the exponent on the bottom is larger just subtract the top exponent from the bottom exponent
3.) 3.17*10^-3
4.) 9.43*10^-5
5.) 4
6.) 6y^4+9y^3-6y^2-14y^3-21y^2-14y+8y^2+12y-8
6y^4-5y^3-19y^2-2y-8
7.) 6y^3+6y^2+4y+4
8.) (x-1)^2
9.) i can't help with this one
10.) i can't help with this one

I agree. Do your own homework. You'll never learn if you have someone else do it for you. If you have a specific concept you don't understand, ask that.
