I work in an office where everyone uses tons of sports lingo and knows all the statistics and historical data of about every pro and college team in the USA. I feel so left out and lost sometimes! Anyone know of any good guides (ie., Dummies or something along that line) to help me survive in this arena of office space?

Just Watch like 20 Mins of of FSN or Sports Center every night. Those dudes throw out tons of jargon. Or just watch some games.

I know so much useless sports trivia and lingo but its mostly because Ive been such a huge fan my whole life. The easiest things to do would be to watch sportscenter a few times to get an idea about whats going on. Another good trick is leaving on espn news when you sleep. It like sinks in your head and it seems like you have it memorized the next day. Also, if you have limited time try looking on message boards. Like the ones on espn.com or nfl.com team sites. You can get a lot of info there.

Okay, not to sound rude or sarcastic, but if you're cute, goto a sports bar on a Friday or Saturday night. One that has many TVs. watch the games...all of them and ask if something is said that you don't understand. Guys will answer a cute girl.

Go to amazon.com. Search for "sports for dummies". You'll find dummy books for football, baseball and basketball for sure, maybe more.
