I wouldn't do it myself. A small rocket would not affect the tornado at all. You would need quite a large explosive, but the collateral damage would be too great. You would probably need a kilo-ton nuclear device device to get any effect on the twister. But it may even spawn MORE twisters since the movement of hot air may fuel the updraft of the supercell. Bottom line, I wouldn't try it.

yes but i don't know that it is legal or not and i think that it well not effect the tornado because the rocket is too fast it could get in and get out like an open door but it could effect the tornado if it hit something and explode while it is in the tornado.

Yes it is legal, yes it can be done, and yes we are going to do it. I am the leader of the TSR Project. The rocket itself will not affect the vortex. We are looking to manipulate an unseen force to control or deflect tornadoes from populated areas.

If the rockets payload was large enough the entire super cell could be completely vaporized along with the raging tornado...tom science

Yes, however your most successful approach would be from above the tornado shooting directly in to the eye of the tornado.

Shooting the rocket of the size you would actually use would have no effect on a tornado at all. I do not think it is illegal.

I think that if you shot a rocket full of compressed air, if it was powerful enough it could disrupt the cloud, causing the tornado to dissipate.

its spelled debris, and maybe if the rocket hits something. no matter what state of emergency, this is illegal. i think the shockwaves produced by the explosion would effect it, but just the cloud form for a few seconds then the winds that were remaining would spin it back into its normal shape

That has been tried several times. The winds have always diverted the rockets away from the funnel.
