What is the answer to 32(2-4)+6 divided by 4.9-3(6+1)?

It is a math problem that non of my children or myself can figure the answer to. The answer key has 4/161, but I don't believe it is correct.

I got the same answer most everyone got which was -58/16.1. The answer key says the answer is 4/161, which I am beginning to think is incorrect. Thanks everyone though.

4.9-18-3 =

that becomes 16.1/58

remeber the order of operations and do stuff inside parrenthasis () first, then do all multiplication and division, then any addition and subtraction

let's start with the top. first add the numbers inside the parrenthasis, then multiply them by 32. next add up all the numbers
32(2-4) + 6
= (32)(-2) + 6
= -64 + 6
= -58

now let's look at the bottom
4.9 - 3(6+1)
= 4.9 - 3(7)
= 4.9 - 21
= -16.1

now let's put the top and bottom back together
= -58 / -16.1
= 58/16.1

i think the answer key is very wrong!!

I got 3.60248.... I really couldn't tell you what that is in a fraction.

32(2-4)+6/4.9-3(6+1)
= 32(-2)+6/4.9-3(7)
= -64+6/4.9-21
= -58/-16.1
= 3.60248...

But, 4 divided by 161 is 0.0248..... so I'm not sure who's wrong. Me or the book. High School math was a while back now.

32*2-32*4

64-128=-64
-64+6=-58

since you don't need that side anymore work on the other

4.9-3(6+1)

or 3*6+3*1=18+3

now take the 4.9-21=-16.1
