You should be getting at least 7-9 hours of sleep. I have to have my sleep or I am no good to anyone-at all.

A lot would depend on your age I'm sure. I don't get much sleep myself. I'd say between 6 - 7 hours. I think 8 is pretty good for anyone. But laying in bed and waking up several times a night is not good sleep...so just because you're in bed for 10 hours doesn't mean you got enough. You need those 7 or 8 hours of really good sleep. Babies and young children definitely need more because they are growing so fast.

Everyone is different, and only you can really answer this question, because you know how you feel when you wake up every time.

The average adult needs 7-8 hours sleep a night.

It depends on the quality of sleep too - if you feel peaceful and sleep deeply, less than 7 hours can feel very refreshing.

Shift work can really throw out your routine....so if you work shifts, it might take a while to establish a good pattern.

One of the reasons you need sleep is to enable you to dream (even if you don't remember the dreams)

Sleep is really important and theright amount of good quality sleep will enhance your enjoyment of life.

Depending on what age you are, the human body needs approximately 7-10 hours of good, restful sleep. Even if you're laying down and you think you're asleep the whole time, you may not be in a full REM sleep. REM sleep is the dream state, where your mind loses partial control of your thoughts. When you dream, you can be sure you got a good night's sleep.

It depends how old you are. Teenagers need around 8 or 9 hours but adults can get by with 6-8 hours but preferably 8+.
