The paparazzi are people who have bought into the notion that suffering is a necessary ingredient for great art or great writing.

It's abuse. I've moved on and no longer write. Kindly move on, too.

They are still interested because I am black, a woman and seen as a commodity by various interest groups and individuals accustomed to bending others to their will. I am sure they think they are doing me a favor but I am having none of it.

Your question is perplexing. Why the pursuit of paparazzi? Is there more that needs be told. There would seem to need a reason, a torrid love affair, association with criminals or something. I can imagine the authoress of 'Harry Potter' being a candidate for such attention as the media looks for any character faults but as 'ex-writer', it seems strange that they would pay much attention. I am a writer of both scientific as well as fictional books and I would be happy to glorify my works to the paparazzi...and help me to get public attention...even bad publicity sells books. Logically, there must be an element that you haven't mentioned that arouses their interest. Also as a writer, I know that a writer is never an 'EX', we write because it makes the sun come up in the morning, it both fills and cleanses the soul...we write because we love it. Steven King has written millions of words, not for money, but because he loves it. In any event, there is always the court system for things such as slander and enough money hungry lawyers to take on such cases for a percentage.

Move to a different country. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie found out that the paparazzi don't go to Africa. Maybe the paparazzi are not as well financed as you had previously thought.

Always carry a camera and start taking pictures of them. Follow them around in public buildings and into the bathroom - stick the camera under the door and yell, "SMILE!"
Hey, this could prove to be a great pictorial book - I want a finder's fee. . . .

How come you are having such a problem with them as an unemployed writer? Shotguns usually get your point across fairly well...call the cops and report harrasment if you don't want to fire a warning shot.

I'd say you have to make it too costly (in time or money) for them to bother you for the amount of return they get for selling your pics.
Take them to small claims court for every little detail you can think of. That kills a lot of your time to but its cheap to do and they lose if they don't show up to defend themselves. Now they will have to either hire a lawyer (their profits going bye bye) or show up to defend themselves (their time wasted) I don't know who you are but if the money for your pics is not that good it won't take much to convince them its not worth it.
Call the police every chance you get to. Tell them you see a stacker/rapist lurking around your house. Tell them you got a death threat and the guy who did it sounds exactly like the paparazzi. Tell them whatever. All you have to do it make the payoff they get for hassling you not worth their time.

Write a fiction book about how scumbags they are. That way you will get their money and expose them too.
