i am playing the bass guitar and i just got it.i was playing it so much that one of my fingers got a blister.how long does it take for calusses to form on your finger when playing bass guitar?

it takes a while, but you need to be patient, because you won't form anything on your fingers if they bleed, ok? Take your time. Lotion could help. Just a little here and there on your fingers. Keep the bandaids close.

After a few weeks (if you play all the time) it wont hurt at all and you will be able to play for hours. One thing to remember, for bass, it's not like you're working out - relax your muscles, arms, body, fingers, etc. Move as little as possible. Otherwise you could get RSI in your wrists, but loosening up will greatly improve your playing and timing.

Probably about 2 and 1/2 weeks. Maybe longer. Keep up the playin'.

i play electric and after playing quite a bit, it took me a little over a month for my fingers to at least be able to hold up to all the stroking.
