If you snore really loud you may have sleep apnea and this means that you stop breathing during the night and when you do have it it means that your not gietting enough oxygen to your brain and snoring is one of the biggest symptoms of sleep apnea so you may want to go get tested for sleep apnea. i hope this helps.

How nice of you to do that for your wife. I have never heard of anything negative about it. Tell your wife I am so glad she is getting a good nights sleep.
