Not always. A lot of what goes on on eBay is based on trust between the buyer and seller. There are always unscrupulous people on eBay who take your money but don't send the item. That is why eBay has safeguards to protect you from fraud. First of all, never may with a money order, it's a scam. Pay through paypal or with your credit card and always ask for a postal tracking number. That way you have proof you paid and can contact the post office if your package doesn't arrive.

If you are the highest bidder on ebay then you will get the product. Ebay has been known to have fraudulent sellers.
The best thing to do is before you place your bid, you should look at the sellers ebay rating and checkout their feedback that other ebay users have left. This will help indicate if you can trust the seller or not.
And when you get scammed there is a way to report such illegal activity on ebay and you can leave negative feedback to warn others not to do business

Nope!
Now you hope you will. But there are a number of factors that may prevent you from receiving your item. They include but are not limited to...
1. Bogus sale (the seller never had the item). He/she was a con.
2. Lost in the mail. Hey, I love our USPS, but it does happen.
3. Unforeseen events. I didn't receive something from the internet one time after I bought it. I had to do some research, but it turned out that the company I bought my item from was...in New Orleans, LA. The date? August. They were nailed by the hurricane.
In a perfect world, you would get what you bought. But we have deceitful people, imperfect systems, and sometimes downright unforeseeable outside sources.
But don't be afraid! eBay is a FUN place to shop! I love it! And I am confident (though wisely cautious!) when making purchases!

Well, I have been using ebay for a few years now and I haven't always gotten what I paid for. Just be sure to use a secure online paying tool like, PayPal. If someone ever tries to take your money without sending you anything PayPal will try to get it back for you. But buying stuff online is always a risk, so be careful =]

Some people make up an item put it on ebay and get the money for it and never send anything. Its best to get stuff through a real business. You can never be certain that you will get what you pay for.

No- a friend got totally screwed out of $700 b/c a hacker broke into a guy's account and scammed him. The seller had a great rating but even Ebay isn't totally resistant to hackers.

I've always gotten everything I've bought on eBay. One of the benefits to buying through eBay is that you can go through them to dispute something if you paid for it but never received it.

I have always received what I have purchased, but depending on the items value, I sometimes chose to have the item insured. A Pay Pal account also offers some added protection

I have always received any order I have placed on eBay. I try to order only from merchants with positive transition comments.
