she can't personally but the courts can and will not only garnish your wages but u can also do jail time. alimony is court ordered. when the set the payment it is done based on your current financial situation. your best bet is to get with an attorney and explain your situation and you have to prove that it is affecting you financially. you will still face ridicule as to why you can't make payment. either get a lower paying job or incorporate yourself. if you get paid under your incorporated name then you can pay urself any dollar amount u want and your ex can only take so much of what you pay yourself.

Your account can't be frozen, but they can garnish your wages, meaning the money will come right off your paycheck. She would have to go to court to do this though. The only thing you can do is go back to court and present a really detailed picture of your financial situation.Maybe the judge will take pity on you.

If she froze your bank account she would not get any money either. If it really is too much go back to court with documentation outlining your finances and proving that you can not afford to pay xx to her.

the most likely course of action is that she will file a petition for garnishment and the money will be withheld by your employer to pay the alimony

Sorry, yes.
And garnish your salary, and get a court order to sell anything else you own.
If you really cannot afford it due to a change in circumstances, get a lawyer and get the court order changed.
And do it now.
Waiting gets you in a worse hole.
