why don't people want the death penalty until it happens to someone they know and love?

Most people have an entitlement attitude: something happened that affects ME, so I deserve to be compensated. I think that's total shite, and so is the death penalty.

Because unevolved and unelightened humans are basically full of fear and a desire for revenge for others that hurt them or their loved ones.

because it's one thing to be in the actual situation and another to be on the outside looking in. Well should i say it's just HUMAN.
