Depends on the impact to you or others.

If he's just telling stories, it may be sad but who cares. Just remember he's entertaining but not reliable.

If his lies hurt you or someone else, you gotta consider cutting off or telling on him.

Oh dear that is a difficult one. Sounds as if you are very hurt.

It does depend on the circumstances and what the lie was about.

Did your friend lie to protect someone else? Because if so I think that is more acceptable.

Did your friend lie to save hurting your feelings? Again, they might not have intended to upset you.

Give yourself a little time (even if only a day) to think about it - don't do anything rash.

Then talk it through with your friend. I would say try to forgive your friend if you can.

You will feel better when this is resolved, and I hope it will work out OK for you.

I would first confront them about the lie. If they are pathological (or habitual) liars, I would end the friendship, and have actually done that before. I have found that people who lie, lie to themselves as well, and most of the time, don't realize they are lying, or that they believe what they are saying is true. To me it isn't worth the trouble or effort to keep the friendship, but you should examine your friendship, and determine if it's worth it to you to put up with the lies...

Depends. I hate when someone lies to me. For a while and depending from the gravity of the lie I forgive even from time to time but when it turns out that everything is false and nothing's true, I end and I actually ended that friendship.

Depends on what the lie was about, and I'll give the same advice as I did to the last person who asked. If the deception was intended to be harmful or humiliating, confront them or ignore them. If it was intended to divert your attention (such as with a surprise party) then don't worry about it.

One of my Friends tells me lies - not very big ones- but still lies its really quite annoying and i don't know what to do. i suppose it doesn't bother me much because they're fairly small. It depends how big the lie is really if its big then something needs to be done - you should probably talk to them. Good luck xx

You should have a serious dialog with that person, if he is important for you. Tell him what do you think and mention the fact that you cherish your friendship (if you do, of course). dialog is the best way to resolve problems.
Wish you luck!

well it all depends on the bonding b/w u n ur frnd...
also on the level n impact of lie on ur or other's life.................
if u seriously believes that he is cheating n hurting ur feeling then u can say to him straght forwardedly that look my frnd i m hurted by ur that deed n i dont want that to happen again....if he or she is ur true frnd then they vl stop doing that n there is no point in not telling him straight forwardly as i personally believes that if u r true frnds u must hav the courage to say it on the face itself........
