your question implies that 'true love' means a choice between rich or poor or young or old and i don't understand how either of those implies a sacrifice so it doesn't make much sense to me really. but it could go either way, i don't think true love would involve a serious sacrifice but of course it would mean giving up being single so if thats a sacrifice the answer is yes, for some that is and some are anxious to not be single anymore. if your situation involves some sort of major sacrifice i would have to question whether or not it is true love or one of the many things in life that people fool themselves in to calling love.

If you really love someone they may not even feel like sacrifices, for example you might do the dishes for your mate because they are tired from work, and not even think about it. If it were a roommate you'd probably be upset that they weren't pulling their weight. That isn't usually the case though. I have sacrificed a lot in my marriage. Every I'm sorry when I don't think it was my fault, just to end a conversation things like that. It could be you just have a good mate that compliments you and you get along very well. I'm a hopeless romantic. I really think though that it's usually not as easy as that, you want the right answer, then you need to be asking you're partner. I think every couple is different.

Good question! Anything is possible. I think you will always make some kind of sacrifice the thing is how big or small the sac will be. Just letting someone into your head and heart is a sacrifice.

No it is not possible. True love is give and take. Get used to it because it will always be like that. If you truly love the person then little sacrifices are well worth the while.

Yup. Eat large quantities of chocolate. :) Love has been shown in multiple tests using fMRI to be nothing more than intense stimulation of the reward center of the brain (nucleus accumbens and the ventral tegmentum). So by definition, if you can find a drug like heroin or cocaine that can stimulate those centers without the nasty side effects, then yes you can have love without sacrifice. Until that day, when it comes to relationships, it is about sacrifice of both parties to make each as happy as possible. :)

I don't think so, I think the definition of love should be "the ability to sacrifice". It's a two way street, and you have to be willing to give of yourself in order to receive anything back. When two lives come together, something is bound to get sacrificed, it's not a bad thing, it's just the way it is.

In true love, every sacrifice is made willingly. When you really love someone you will do anything to see them smile. It's more a matter of willingness to sacrifice.

Yes -- since true love would mean no sacrifice
Unconditional means no matter what and in my definition that would be part of true love -- a better question would be is there such a thing as true love
