I don't think it's possible to have socialized health care without a huge decrease in quality and care. It takes away competition so there is less of an incentive to provide better services and quality.

I think that the issue is on both sides of the fence, but more important is allowing unfortunate sick people to have some kind of health service and since our country lives by taking care of the sick lame and lazy, then we would pay more taxes to support the change in health care.
but in reality, the better care you take of yourself the less you need health care the less it will cost, so i think the governement should have National Health Facilities such as Gym's and Health clubs for Free and the doctors and nurses could service people out of there, that way when the fat folks come in with their fat problems they can put them on a treadmill for a few hours to burn that heart diseased lard off of them....

As someone who doesn't have it right now, OF COURSE I'm all for it! If there was a national health plan, I'm thinking it would be to go to a Dr of your choice (like the current Medicaid plan). I don't know how else it could work. Otherwise, it would fall under the guidelines of discrimination.

We already have it for the elderly and for veterans through the VA; extending it to the rest of the population shouldn't be so unreasonable.
Arizona already has a State Rx plan for those who want to sign up. The more people in the pool, the better the rates.

Sounds like you would love to pay more taxes.
But we do have a national health care program of sorts already. It's called Medicare. But you have to qualify for it.

You need to look at some European countries, they have national healthcare and they don't have any of the problems you mentioned. If we could have healthcare like say England then it would be better for all.

Not me, that's for sure! It doesn't work!
