they'll ask or wonder what you were doing while driving with your suspended license. employers look for reasons not to hire you. if there is one, you're not hired. if you get someone cool who really doesn't care then great. but for the majority, they just enjoy wasting your time and givnig you false hopes. i suggest you find or look somewhere else. you're done at that place.

It stays on your license for 9 years, and yes this is a valid reason for not hiring you. It shows irresponsibility and carelessness. And there is the reason it was suspended in the first place. Your past really does come back to haunt you.

If you live in a "right to work" state, they don't really need a reason. They don't have to hire you if they don't want to. If not, then it might have something to do with a company policy. I agree, it does not sound like a valid reason to me, but then I don't know what the job, requirements, or company are so it's difficult to make a judgment without more information.

Some companies are not very forgiving of past violations. If this is a bank job they will want the most honest outstanding citizen to hire. If you have a criminal record of any kind They will be wary of you. You may call and see if there is some way of getting that off your record. I don't know how but I know people who say they have done it. Good luck

Unfortuately, in this job market, you have to be squeaky clean. Perhaps you may want to explain the circumstances of the suspended license during your next interview. Coming clean with something like that instead of hiding it will difuse a potentially bad situation and maybe put you in a more crdible light.

Provided that driving/your license is not relevant to your job responsibilities, no, I don't think it's fair.

But, if it is relevant (e.g. cab/truck driver, sales rep who travels), I can see the reasoning.

Might be worth it to explain why it was suspended - was it for carelessness or something more "innocent?"
