I was wondering.
Do you HAVE to play Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories before you play Kingdom Hearts 2?

You don't have to play it but it does provide a lot of helpful information before you move on to KH2. I skipped it but still understood what was going on. Another option is reading the COM game script online somewhere.

No you don't have to play Chain of Memories before you play Kingdom Hearts 2 although Chain of Memories does explain a little bit about whats happening in Kingdom Hearts 2. You don't have to play Chain of Memories, but if you are a Kingdom Hearts fan, you might want to play it. Hope this helps! ^_^

Not really you just won't know all of the members of Organization XIII or what happened to Sora after Kingdom Hearts 1. But you'll learn everything you need to know later on in Kingdom Hearts 2.

Kingdom Hearts chain of memories is a completely independent storyline and you do not have to play it. it is awful.

No. i played through KH2 w/out playing chains and understood everything. I am playing chain of memories now and there isn't much that I missed by playing KH2 first.

Nah, I'm almost done with the second game and I haven't even played the first one. I watched my siblings play it, but not me.

no but it is still fun i have KH1 KH2 and KH chain of memories but you must play KH1 to master the controls

not really, but it makes it that much cooler. I would recomend it. I bought a new PS2 just for the freakin' game!!!
