"these people have committed an act of war, and all he wants to do is talk. Its time to speak with power and the might of a first rate country rather than wishy-washy diplomatic compromise."

"I think Carter is too slack. The first week it happened he should have put pressure on the Iranians."

"It turned out unfortunately sad and tragic, but I am proud that it was at least attempted. All those who are trying to make the President look like a fool because of this failure, would have been the first to jump on the band wagon and call him a hero had it been a success."

"People have been criticizing Carter for doing nothing, but now when he does, and it doesn't work, he's severely criticized."

"American's know that our self-respect and safety are most important, and sometimes, we have to turn the other cheek, but never when it causes American lives to be put in jeopardy!"

Any of this sound familiar??

It's not fair to judge a President until his term is over.

Carter is generally recognized as the reason there's a radical Islamic movement in the world today. He badly mishandled Iran back in the 1970s. He was an inept fool, and widely considered to be the most unqualified President in the nation's history. I guess no one remembers DOUBLE DIGIT INFLATION.

Now he plays footsie with brutal anti-American dictators. Carter hates the U.S., and he shows it every time he opens his mouth.

Listen, voters were setup during the 1980 election. Carter was a wonderful honest man with great ideas but he was targetted for that reason by a corrupt Republican scandal.

Try doing some reading on Iran Contra.

Here is what the independent councel at the end of his investigation (was either 1987 or 88) determined.

1979 there were hostages taken by Iran. No matter what Carter did, for some reason they would never negotiate with him. It was proven later that the reason was because Reagan (who was not president but only running at the time) went behind the Pres. of the US back and made a deal with the Iran Contras for the hostage release.

So, Reagan was able to go to the American public and paint a weak picture over Carter. Reagan knew he had this deal and would never have to go to war but he could tell the public he would.

This worked with Reagan winning the presidency by a landslide. On the day of Reagan's inauguration, the hostages were released.

I have never ever never figured out why Reagan was not charged with treason for that - going behind the back of US pres. and making a deal.

BTW, this was when I left the Republican party and went independent.

The only bad president is a president with bad citizens. The President of the US is limited in his power to doing what the public wants, and the American public has NO IDEA at all what they want. Safety and security, without giving up anything. Low cost goods, and high paying jobs. Increased govt services and lower taxes.

he's THE worst president ever.. Arizona asked, begged, and pleaded for federal help and now that BO has snubbed his nostril at his very own countrymen, Arizona has had to resign 80 miles of U.S. land to the Mexican drug cartels. The borders are broken in an truly undesirable way, and Obama is basically as arrogant as could be. He does not pay attention to the folk (his boss), he basically surges forward and pushed his very own time table. he's the closest we've ever come to a dictatorship... and his supporters sleep on, I under no circumstances concept i could stay to work out the day that the U.S. replace into so close to to crumbling away. i did no longer, actually, think of it replace into available. Even Janet Napolitano has asserted that American veterans weren't to be relied on, as they could additionally be terrorists. How low can this administration flow?

Nobody can succeed in politics without "playing the game" to some extent. I believe that Jimmy Carter was and is an ethical man of integrity who had some very tough decisions - and did the best he could, with the choices he was given, to help the most people possible. I can't say that about our current president. (Not even if you paid me.)

Carter's legacy: skyrocketing inflation, inept foreign policy, missunderstanding of how to use the millitary. Thats just what I can remember.

Carter has turned out to be one of the best ex-presidents of the US. I hope Bush will turn out to be a better expresident than president as well.

If Carter had his way, we'd still have the USSR with all its missiles pointed at us.
Carter is one of the worst presidents we've had...almost as bad and treasonous as Clinton.

Carter tried to do away with the armed forces. Maybe we wouldn't be in this position if he hadn't done that.
