You could go with the route of pornography corrupting the morals of society. You could even relate it to the fact that over X% of Americans have some type of organized religion and while the Laws of the US protect pornography under the 1st amendment every religion (to my knowledge) frowns upon it. You might also want to add that while the Constitution is meant to separate church and state that the line between the two is continually being blurred with a major political party gathering around conservative christian rights, and the recent court cases upholding the word God on currency, state building, pledge of allegiance, etc... Hope this helps. :-)

Some things you can say are:
1. Pornography creates unrealistic images and expectations of men and especially women.
2. Pornography is used by pedophiles to fuel any sexual desires. One can say that they could use the child pornography as an outlet, however, most pedophiles need to escalate the visions by committing the act on an actual child. The same could be said about rape of an adult by someone that constantly has sex on the mind because of a daily dose of pornography.
3. There is never any proof that the pornography is made by people that want to partake in it, even if it looks like it, especially if it's "amateur" pornography. By looking at it you are contributing to their suffering because whoever is making them participate is not going to get rid of them if they are attracting a lot of viewers.
4. Pornography becomes an obsession for many people who view it. It is seen and the image is usually tattooed in your mind. Then you seek to look at more things like it. If you drink every day, or alone, you are considered an alcoholic; pornography should be the same, and those people should seek help.
5. 18 is the legal age for participating in pornography, but many places won't let you purchase it unless you are 21. A lot of porno is made by people that start at 18 then realize they cannot get out due to the income or because they don't know any better when they are old enough to understand. 18 is obviously not an age that it should be legal at. If it were 21 most people by then would probably not do it.
6. Easier access through the internet makes it easier for children to view it; these same children are the ones that are having sex earlier or even raping other children. That is beyond sickening.
7. Pornography is essentially prostitution. People are getting paid to be videotaped or photographed doing something that has lost all meaning by the time they are finally with someone that they love.
8. Most people that participate willingly in pornography have another issue to deal with. They usually do not have any value for their bodies, lack of self-esteem, have been raped or molested and do not understand love, or value money more than their self-respect. In all reality, those people need to seek therapists. Rarely will you find someone that makes pornography do it because they deem it "fun". The people that enjoy sex for fun usually just date many people and they don't do it in front of a camera because they realize that it is just a phase and want to settle down in the future without being haunted by videotapes of them that their spouse or children might see.

Our class is having a debate on pornography in the US. What are some good debate quest's against pornography?
Good debate questions ... hmm
Why is pornography legal in a nation that criminalizes prostitution?
In order to make pornography somebody must pay the ‘actor/actress’ for their performance, in the end currency has been exchanged for sex, just like with prostitution. Why is paying for sex allowed so long as it is filmed/taped recorded in some form?
It has been proven that people are influenced by what they see, exposure to pornography inevitably leads the viewer to think of other humans as less than that. Why is this tolerated in a society were even terms that label a person are frowned upon?
Watching pornography is an addictive behavior, the person so addicted no longer has ‘control’ over his decisions on the matter. Why is the environment not regulated and/or why don’t we provide clinics to treat people’s addiction?
Since pornography is usually legal under our concept of ‘freedom of expression’ why are other forms of expression such as bestiality repressed? Why do we allow people to express themselves with other people in a manner that we would consider criminal with lower animals?
If ‘freedom of expression’ in fact is what legalizes pornography, why is it that it is only legal if it is recorded and viewed later, and not when seen live? Could it be that it is not a form of expression after all?
When people express themselves in this manner, exactly what are they stating?

Pornography gives people a false reality of sex and relationships and is also highly addictive for some people. Despite arguments to the contrary it does influence actions and all pedophiles have had addictions with pornography and when you view it consistently the material you need for stimulation gets more and more hardcore and at some point if not put in check it will no longer be enough to view it but you will want to do it and some people will do whatever it takes including assult of women or minors.

Against-
-degrading toward women
