I am not sure where you are from but here in Toronto yes women can go topless in the streets. But like a man they have to cover up when going into a store. Women here fought it either men keep there shirt on or we are aloud to remove ours. But in sports you are right that is not fair.

The assumption is, since men tend to be visual creatures and are stimulated more by looking than are women, that if the female gender were allowed to wander about with their mammaries exposed that it would generate too much sexual enthusiasm on the part of the male gender and you couldn't get anything done for the ogling and masturbating and lewd attempts at contact, but, as I said, it's an assumption. Men are pigs in general and you don't want to give pigs any more reasons to misbehave.

Unfortunately, women have historically been used by men to make money. If women were allowed to remove their shirts, what would happen to the huge industries built around women baring their breasts for entertainment purposes? I don't think our lack of freedom comes from being prohibited from removing our shirts. It comes form our being objectified and from a country that allows and endorses male degredation of females. When women can walk the streets safely, we will have no freedom. Who cares whether or not we can remove our shirts?

Women who can not compete are belittled. They have demanded that the breast be covered. The only Ancient Society that I can recall that promoted half nude women where the Minoans in Crete. African, Polynesians, and other Island Nations such as the Hawaiians also had no inhibition to half nude women. The Missionaries of that damn catholic church destroyed native cultures. Nude sun bathers of Europe still pay no mind to religious hog-wash.
The world would be a better place without religion. We certainly would not be at war now if we could wipe it out.

Because women have these things called
T!TS.
It's illicit and socially unacceptable in the public eye for a woman to be topless. It REALLY isn't a problem with me. In addition, I think that this mostly applies in America.
Go to parts of Africa, and toplessness (if that's a word) is quite common.

Women can remove their shirts, but they rarley do unless they're on holiday, cuz most men (even married 1s) would automatically stare at you, which then makes you paranoid, so you put it back on. I've never went topless, but if i did it women only be in a foreign place were i didnt know anybody.

I think it would be far too distracting to have a bunch of half-naked females running around! No one would get anything done, cars would be wrecking all over the place, and dudes would be walking around with drool stains all over their shirts like little kids!

Darn good question. Both have nipples too but on TV they blur out the nipples on women. That makes NO sense because it is not the NIPPLE that makes you different. Why don't they blur the fun bags and let the nipple be visible? Crazy world.

It depend on our society's etiquette, habit and our religion. For moslems aurat or privy parts of woman and man are difference. For moslem women the privy parts is from their head up to their toes ,except for their face.So Allah gives obligation for moslem woman to use a jilbab or mukena women's praying veil and covered all parts of their body except their face. While for moslem men, their aurat or privy part is only from their knee up to their stomach's crown. So men can lift or remove their shirts as long as his privy parts are covered. But I think it is allowed not in every occasion. Our clothes and our acts should be matched with our occasion and our culture and our religion and its time and place. In sport hall and in the swimming pool wmen are free to open their shirts.but not outside there. We can open our covered clothes in our home among our family (husband, wife and kids)only.

In some cultures it is accepted, but not here. We try to hide what we've got and flaunt what we don't have or make bigger what we don't have. And if we got to much we should'nt flaunt it, then we probably do, It's confusing u figure it out. let me know how u figure it.
