...to 3 states away because he got a job? If you were in school but could go to school there. If you weren't engaged or had any knowledge of how they felt about your future together. The bf/gf would like to have a long distance relationship but you had put doubts in their mind that it would never work. And if they decided that they were going with or without you.

*I'm in this situation. I told him that he's only 23 and has the rest of his life to work. He said he's doing it now and not waiting any longer.

If you really love him

depends on how you feel about your relationship with him. If you love him and think he might be the one. Ask him how he feels about you and if they are the same move, go on you only live once enjoy life with the one you love.
Now if you are worried about school do some research into the state you are going and find out if the school can transfer credits so you can be next to him.
if he does not feel the same about your relationship maybe it is time to move on.
Good Luck
