well first, if your screen name is any indication then you should layoff the stuff for a while. otherwise it's not so much about the stance as it is the swing. you need to maintain eye contact with the ball throughout the swing.
a good stance is feet slightly more than shoulder width apart, relaxed bent slightly at the knees and waist, leaning toward home plate. hold the bat at the joints where your fingers meet your hand. this will allow for a stronger grip with less slip. the knuckles on your fingers should be lined up along the handle of the bat. hands back about 4-6 inches from the chest. take a short jab step with the lead foot, twist at the hips pivotting on the toe of your rear foot, and swing the bat down and through the strike zone.
a simple way to practice by yourself is to use a batting tee. you dont even need a ball. put the tee to about waist high and when you swing you should barely hit the top of the tee.

this is all about timing first get a good foot stance have your feet about the width of your shoulders apart, dig in and plant your back leg , bend your knees slightly, choke up on your bat so as to get a quicker swing..watch the ball all the way from the pitchers hand stay focused on that ball dont let anything interfere with your concentration(tune out the crowd) youll probably find your front leg lifting off the ground for momentum swing into the ball, not at it..take a few practice swings before you get to the plate some people like to swing 2 bats to give the effect of one bat feeling lighter..just practice and do not quit youll find yourself hitting the ball ..dont let some pitcher intimidate you thats what he wants is for you to be scared dont be afraid to crowd the plate sometimes.. make him do the work of throwing the strike..dont be afraid.. its only a game have fun!!!

Usually with a bat, but to swing the bat, make sure your knuckles are lined up when you grip the bat. Also hold the bat as tight as you can. If you hold the bat loose you are more likely to get "stung" when you hit the ball. Also make sure when you swing you step into the ball not away from it. Stepping into the ball will help keep your swing level....PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!!!

Go to a batting cage and make sure you have a level swing. You dont need to have a good batting stance to be a good hitter. Don't listen to DNCTERROTISTORG about the holding the bat tight, you dont want to actually hold it tight, you want to hold it loosly because it will give you better contact with the ball.

yea go to a cage and don't
swing for the fences because your
not Bonds. Swing with a level swing and
sit back on the pitch wait for it to come to you.
Also keep your head there and your eye on the ball.
when you swing don't pull your head, keep it
still and have confidence.
