It looks like a zheng, which is a Chinese long zither. Very beautiful instrument.

it does look like an instrument from another country. i'm guessing sitar, but i'm not exactly sure.

perhaps its an antiques instrument...harpsicord, piano forte...i'm not really sure. take it to a music specialty shop, auction or antique store and see if they know. sorry i wasn't much help.
