Burning the Flag is legal it is the only way that a American Flag can be properly disposed of. Though... It goes along with the notion that people actually have an idea of what flag ediquite is suposto to be...
If people would start taking care of the flag, putting it up and down at dawn and dusk, half mast when requried, not letting it get rained on... or throwing it on the ground... Then there would be a case... But no one follows ediquite any more except those in the military... and it is rare any more (at least in my area) to see the scouts still do the flag for the elementary and the ROTC do it for middle and high... but I guess that my be just my area...
Flag burning is Legal... Allways has been... Now, burning money is a different story...

Burning the USA flag IS legal. In fact, in military tradition, it is the respectful thing to do when the flag is stained, ripped, or otherwise damaged beyond repair.
Those people who leave their flags out in all kinds of weather? Let them get faded and discolored? Those are the people being disrespectful. They're the ones who should be arrested.

Flag burning is a NON-problem: As Sen. Robert Bennett (R-UT) has said, “I don’t want to amend the Constitution to solve a non-problem. People are not burning the flag.” One study found just 45 reported incidents in the over 200 years between 1777 and 1989, when the Flag Protection Act was first passed.
WHY ARE REPUGLICONS DICKING WITH
STUPID AMENDEMTS INSTEAD OF DEALING
WITH REAL ISSUES?
WE HAVE A ILLEGAL WAR GOING ON
AND REPUGLICONS THINK GAYS & FLAG
BURNING ARE ISSUES TO DEAL WITH?

If someone believed that it is wrong to burn the flag I would ask them this... Why are you so concerned with burning fabric, when there are soldiers burning in the war fields every day? or I would ask them this... Why does it matter if we burn the US flag, when its the people, not the country or the government or the flag, that make America what it is today?

I would rather live in a country that has a flag worth burning than in some insignificant nation that gets moved by the economic and social tides of the more important nations.
As a veteran, I am deeply offended by the gall of the people who would burn a flag. But it offends me more to stop them. Hell, they have to buy the thing from somewhere....
Let them burn it. Doing so is an affirmation of our constitution and proof that they have no clue why we are so powerful

Why do you really need to do that? Personally I abhore flag burning as a form of protest.
But, in the name of Freedom that is so highly prized, I accept that in a Free society they should be allowed to do that. Our gov. talks about freedom this and that, and many a soldier has "died to protect our freedom". That is what freedom is about-- being able to protest/disagree with policies of your government.
btw-- I'm sick of people saying that our troops are "over there" protecting our freedom. No country is even close to being able to take away our freedom except for possibly our own government.

I'd start by asking em to pee in this cup, here, and what country they're from, and if they understand that it's like, really important not to let our enemies strut around on our college campuses spreading hate and dissent against our country etc. No better cure for cleaning out the gutters than to jump up and down on that whole college business with both feet...

It is not illegal, so why would you be questioning them? If they want to burn the flag, they can do so. It is protected speech.
Did you know that one proper way to dispose of the US flag is to burn it?

Why do you feel the need? Couldn't you protest without it? If you really dislike the U.S. why aren't you leaving? Why stay? (Of course, you wouldn't get a decent answer. If they could discuss things coherently, they wouldn't need to burn the flag.)

Do you have Blue Cross or any other form of medical insurance?
(Not that I could care more, but some people have a problem with torching flags unless it's with dignity.)
