I'm a little bit mixed up with my emotions !
I cried when my baby was born
I cried at various close relatives passing away
I even get a bit tearful at the odd slushy film
But was totally cold when my wife told me her marriage was over because she'd had an affair and wanted to be him?
Do men think they are looked at as less than a man when they are seen crying ?

I think it takes a very manly man to cry in front of a women. I wouldn't say it was a bad thing, I believe that some of the better men out there are in touch with their emotions. Men hurt just like women and sometimes to keep from doing something stupid or violent to release their anger and frustration, men just need a good cry. Crying can also be done out of happiness like when your baby was born. There is no better gift then a child's birth and the emotion is at times overwhelming. Don't let anyone tell you that you are less of a man.

Crying SUGGESTS emotional "weakness" and vunerability... somewhere in our genes and rooted in the bygone days of cave-dwelling and hunting for food, that really wouldn't have gone down too well amongst the other huntsmen of the tribe... so men, because of instincts so deeply set in the past, basically try to keep their emotions concealed.
I also cry at some slushy, feel-good movie endings and relatives passing (who doesn't?) but I still think men should make some effort to keep their emotions under control... Wailing out loud in the delivery ward of a hospital or in a cinema isn't terribly dignified or appropriate, but letting a few tears spill onto the cheeks at an intense moment is a sign of sensitivity and someone who is in touch with themselves in a good way.

No, I think it takes a real man to get in touch with their emotions. Traditionally, little boys are socialised that "big boys don't cry"

As a therapist, I think that is a burden for men. It is part of being human to get in touch with a whole range of emotion.

A real woman would not be put off to see a man crying. (As long as it wasn't all the time!!)

I hope it works out for the best (about your wife) You might not have cried then because your defences kicked in. Or you could be angry.

Hope you will find the right person for you.

Well to me, a man crying isn't a weakness. Infact, its so stereotypical of people to say that it makes men look weak. The fact that they are crying for someone shows they're strong. I mean, if women cry, is that a weakness?

I comes from ages ago how men went into battle, stiff uper lip blah blah blah, but i think men should be a bit emotional however if you cry at any little thing some women get uncomfortable as they aren't used to it. As to why you didn't cry when your wife left, maybe on a subconscious level you knew it was over???

From a woman's point of view, I get emotional when my man crys. It hurts me as much as him. Now would I still feel this way if he cried over every little thing, more than likely, not. A woman wants a strong man, but a man secure enough about themselves that they don't feel embarassed to share their feelings.

Men are conditioned from a young age that crying is wrong. Personally, I prefer men who are in touch with their emotions; it makes it easier to remember that they are also human.

I think men who cry are a lot stronger then men who don't show any emotion at all!

Women like a little softness, but I wouldn't recommend doing much crying around them.
