Lamb chops at the Grandviews Restaurant in the San Francisco Grand Hyatt. Some of the best night views of the city.

The Orchard in Beijing. They grow all of their own vegetables organically on the premises. Menu changes with the seasons and what is available so everything is fresh. Light yet flavorful dishes that include both vegetarian and non-vegetarian selections. Hidden and out of the way (they don't advertise) means small crowds. Set in an apple orchard next to a large pond.

NY Strip Steak at the Angus Barn in Raleigh, NC. Great salad and baked potato too. Best blue cheese dressing I've ever had at a restaurant. Good place to go if your spouse is a steak eater.

Almost anything at Cafe Deco on the Peak in Hong Kong. (Food's very good but not expensive. Fantastic view.)

In New Jersey, (Mooachie) place called Segovia, little hole in the wall Protégée/Spanish place. Salmon poached in tomato sauce, and covered with fresh mussels. Homemade potato chips, and enough yellow rice to feed a small army. Accompanied by some of the best homemade Sangria I have had in the US.
About $30 total, but believe worth every penny. And for the men, 3lb steaks! That right, I said 3lbs.

In California there is a chinese side down restuarant called Dragon House...that is the best and only chinese food I will eat. They have everything. I get paperwrapped chicken with beef strips (like jerkey), with these veg. burritos of some kind...mmmm I think now I have to go there tonight..

Best expensive dinner I ever had was pork medallions with mushrooms served with polenta (had this at the California Grill in Orlando, FL). It was excellent. If you're talking more normal though, Applebees has the BEST chicken Ceasar salad.

Gosh I love reading all this stuff.....
I love to go to Lulu's (Jimmy Buffett's sister's place) in Gulf Shores Alabama. I go there on vacation....the best Gumbo in the world. Great Cheesebugers. But I love the fried shrimp basket...atmosphere is wonderful.

My favorite would be Longhorns and their strip steak. Their filet mignon is good but too pricey for me. Sirloin and the Texas steak (20 oz) is also good. Get with cheese fries.
