no. the pregnancy test works by detecting hormones in the body that are only there when a woman is pregnant. a false positive is won't happen, a false negative can happen, though.

False negatives and false positives are very rare but possible on a pregnancy test. False negatives are more common. Being sick would not affect the test as it is testing for a particular hormone your body produced when pregnant. If you are still unsure, retest after you are well or get a blood test from your doc.

No, when you are pregnant there is and abundance of hormones in your system that causes the test to show poss. It is not possible to get a false poss. But some women take the test to early and there are not enough of the hormones in there system and get a false neg. So never a false poss, sometimes false neg.

yes in some RARE forms of cancer or some tumors its possible to show positive for the hcg hormone even when not truly pregnant or having been pregnant.
