First, you need to realize that your definition of the word "friends" is taken from a dictionary of errors. What you have described here is NOT friendship. Acquaintances, sure, but not friends.
If you don't want to make a big scene, then just change the direction you're reaching. Ease out of your relationships with them - just make your own plans by yourself or with other people you know and meet, and don't be available to them. Fade out. You won't be missed except when they're looking for someone to game on.
If you DO want to make a big scene, then throw all the crap they've pulled on you into their faces. The result is the same, you're free of them - but since they obviously like to play games and try to mess up your life, I would recommend not fueling that fire.
Good luck - but since you'll be making positive moves forward, you really won't need my good wishes. Enjoy your journey, and look forward to it. grin.

This is a very difficult situation. Unfortunately, this is not going to be easy. I'm in a similar situation and I suggest treating it like a band-aid you've got to take off, just close your eyes and do it. They are going to be pissed and might even call you some names, but do not let them bring you down. Two things that you need to remember in deciding what to do about this-people only do to you what you allow them to do to you and if they are not supporting you during the good times, what do you think will happen when the bad times come. You can try talking to them, but I get the impression that they won't listen to what you have to say. Good Luck

Oooh, the same thing happened to me. Well, kinda.
Over the summer I just didn't hang out with them. I found new friends. Then when school started I hung out with my new friends and not them.
If you are still in school just slowly start to drift away from them.
Or tell them kindly what you just told us.
