To the Heat and mavs fans.. Its just a game, to the heat fans-congratulations, u got ur first title, enjoy the moment guys but dont brag, besides, its just ur first, and remember-"Be nice to the people on ur way up, because u will see them again on ur way down..."

And to the Mavs fans, like what avery said about dirk"He is a warrior,he tried..No excuses.." Yes the heat may have more phantom calls in this series than the entire NBA season but a win is a win.. The Mavs did have their chances too.. But knowing Mark Cuban, he and the Mavs will be back in the finals next season.. That is if the lakers dont acquire KG.. :) because if they do, it will be the MIAMI HEAT VS LA LAKERS... Kobe vs Wade... Who really is the next MJ? or closer? That would be a treat.. The NBA 05-06 season is over..let it go..

World cup anyone?

Wade creates foul opportunities, and if the officials support his tenacity and aggression with more lenient foul calls, then he's earned it. He's not easy to defend, not afraid to take the shot, and has some talent at the free throw line, so you can't blame him.

Basketball is a tough game to officiate, and we all cry when whistles aren't blown at the end of games when the same foul is called in the middle of the game. So the refs sent Wade to the line with 2 seconds left, ok that's fine, if in fact there was a foul committed (which there wasn't). But Dallas has to hit their free throws and play with desire, not just anger. That being said, ESPN and the NBA have been waiting for another Jordan for 8 years and now they have finally gotten their wish (in their minds). Wade is good, but he also had Shaq, 'Zo, Gary Payton (some of these guys didn't perform for the Lakers in '04 but did for the Heat in '06, go figure) and so Wade was able to shine (doesn't hurt to have 'Toine looking to score at every opportunity either).

Rick Barry was an amazing free throw shooter, as was Chris Mullin and Reggie Miller and John Stockton. I think Rick was the only one of these guys with a ring, so it takes a bit more than free throw shooting to be a star.

Wade is young and great and, evidently, 'likeable', whatever that means. In sports and entertainment, whoever they ram down your throat eventually becomes the superstar, until they're tired of that person (like they've become tired of Vince Carter and Britney Spears, remember all the hype around those two, five years ago????).

If Miami has Riley on the bench and continues to support Wade with good players, then he'll continue to shine. I don't buy this 'he makes the players around him better' business. Either the players around you are good and talented and execute and deliver (the HEAT) or they are lackadaisical, streaky, tentative, and don't have heart (the LAKERS). The difference is apparent, the Heat win a championship, despite being outplayed for most of the Series, and the Lakers fall short after dominating the Suns for 6 of 7 games.

It's a matter of timing, talent and some luck. I think Wade had all that going for him this week, and good for him. We'll see how history treats him. He sure has a leg up on Kobe, because everyone's on his bandwagon now. But he still has a long way to go to be in league with Kobe, let alone MJ. But free-throw shooting is a good place to start!

I am NOT a Miami fan, but have to give credit where credit is due. He is much more than a freethrow shooter. He is phenominal. Some of the shots and moves he pulls off are amazing. He has a huge career in the NBA.

Dwayne is nothing but an NBA champion, free-throw shooting, Shaq-lover. Get it right and recognize. He is better than any player on the mavericks, and now he has a ring.

Oh, and to all the Gator haters, there were two Gators on the NBA Champion Miami Heat. (U. Haslem and J Williams white chocolate.)

Wade was triple teamed. The result is a walk to the free throw line. Not everybody can hit a free throw. Looks like he can.

I'm not a Miami fan, but the guy played all around good basketball. The Mavs didn't cover him right, when they did, they fouled him. Big mistake for a good free thrower. Shaq nick-named him Flash, good name, the guy was fast and on the money. He carried to Heat to victory.

Daaaaanngg, Ms. Meka is just HATING on the heat and it's soo obvious because you're pointing out who the best player was and a good portion of the reason as to why the Heat won.

Bad karma sweety, bad karma....

Well it also has to do with the refs. D. Wade is one of the best players in the leauge.....probably 2nd or 3rd to Kobe and LeBron.

Wouldn't you want to have him on your hometeam? I would! and he beat our *** (detroit)!

He does some amazing things....he is a scorer and he can light his team up. I would veture to say that he maybe in the hall of fame given he can play this well for another 5 or 6 years.

That may be true, but when you look at it, players tend to foul the person that is doing the most damage to them...hence the free throw points. Just admit it, whatever you may call him, you have to call him an NBA champ, now.
