From the graphic I saw on the news the other night, it looks like any part of the US from the plains west. As to whether or not they'd actually fire one at us, I doubt it. It would be suicide.

Western coast of the US
Northern California is in direct line with North Korea on the 40N latitude, but is much farther away than Alaska is regardling line of sight.
If we are smart about this, we should establish a localized missile defense system with Japan since they right by Kim Jong Il's backyard. Any North Korean missile would have to fly right over Japan.
