Does anyone know any VERY sad pieces??

Anything by Chopin works like that... I play a lot of him when it's dark and depressing outside, and it always makes people cry. His Preludes and Nocturnes work.

The piano piece that Ada always plays in the movie "The Piano." It's a New Zealand movie. I also adore the piece "Mariage D'amour" played by Richard Clayderman. Also Moonlight Sonata.

Roger Eno - Music For Films 3 - "Fleeting Smile"
Brian Eno - Ambient 2: The Plateaux of Mirror (The whole release is depressingly beautiful, and mostly piano)
Aphex Twin - Drukqs (Disc 2) - "Petiatil Cx Htdui"
Eluvium - An Accidental Memory in the Case of Death (the whole release)
Thomas Newman - American Beauty Soundtrack - "Any Other Name"
Vangelis - Blade Runner Soundtrack - "Memories of Green"
Stars of the Lid - The Tired Sounds of the Stars of the Lid - "piano aquieu"
Tosca - Delhi 9 (disc 2/promo) - "1504/7" (most of this 2nd cd is good)

If you're looking for something with lyrics I reccomend Jamie Cullum. His music is simply incredible; among his sadder songs are All At Sea, Blame it on My Youth, High and Dry
