Is Hepititis C anything like HIV virus? Or any of the Heps for that matter?

Hepititis C in not like HIV in the sense that it usually specifically attacks your liver. HIV can cause many ailments. It is like HIV in the sense that it is a sexually transmitted disease.

Hepititis C is NOT like the HIV virus. Although, you can get infected the same way, by sharing used syringes. Hepititis C is contracted through blood & it attacks your liver. You can have the HIV Virus and it doesn't show up on tests sometimes for up to 6 months - if you have HepC IT WILL SHOW UP IMMEDIATELY on a test. They have immunization shots for Hepititis A & B but not for C. If you even think that you have HepC - please go get checked - there are medications that you can take for the HepC but their very expensive. And please don't be ashamed of yourself if you do have it - people get diseases - that's just a fact of life. Take care and I wish you the best.

hepatitis is not really like HIV. its gotten through blood. IV drug use mostly. its not for sure that it can be gotten through sex. hep c can take 20, 30, 40 years to show up and when it does it starts to affect the liver. there are drugs that are available that can help clear the virus from the body (its a rigorous 12 week process), but they're not 100 percent. there are also a lot of people who are co-infected with hep c and hiv.

A dr. told me that a lot of people have it and don't even know it, that most people that do have it don't die from it, they usually die from old age or car wreck and so on just like anybody else. unlike HIV. HEP C does have a known cure that works on most people, rebotol and peg-introferon, I'm not sure how its spelled, but I know it works, it cured my wife

Hep c will kill you by destroying your liver :(

HIV/AIDS will destroy your immune system so other infections actually kill you.
