m-16 the ak is more durable but the m-16 has better max effective range, more accurate and higher muzzle velocity and rate of fire. ak47= 7.62mm round rate of fire is 600 rounds a minute muzzle velocity is2350 feet per second and has an effictive range of400m (1312 ft) m-16=5.56 mm round which is a smaller round but...rate of fire is 800 rounds per minute 200 faster than ak 47 muzzle velocity is 3280 feet per second and has a 500 m effective range, so the m-16 shoots faster more accurate and shoots farther

SA 80 british infantry rifle been in design since the 50's ( I think ) I'm told it no longer jams every other round and the barrel no longer bends too much in the desert, a nice plastic light rifle with a bloody good range, the European round does not "tumble" like the US round.

Probably the AK-47, although I have heard good things about the Tavor rifle out of Israel.

it fires when wet, dry cold, and in space.

doesn't overheat or jam either.
