If you mean that your moods are unpredictable that simply makes you a human being. If you mean that your behaviour and attitudes vary a great deal depending on circumstances, that means you are adaptable. If you experience severe depression with suicidal tendancies for no obvious reason, then you may be mentally ill, and should probably talk to a doctor about it.
"Split personalities", "multiple personalities", several essentially different personalities that exist in the same person without knowing about each other, have always been extremely rare. You would have to have regular amnesia about many of the things that you did recently, and largely be unaware of your own behavior.
The term "schizophrenia" literally means "split mind", but it refers to chronic serious delusions, hearing and seeing things that aren't really there, not "split personalities".

Mentally ill does not necessarily mean crazy or crazy behavior.A better term would be "psychological condition," not "ill". Split personality is a psychological condition that may cause problems, if not now, in the future, and needs to be evaluated by a mental health professional.

I don't think you can have split personalities and not be considered mentally ill. You should try to get some help.

Calm down, if you have a split personality like having a way you behave around your parents and other adults being different from the way you behave around friends, that's just fine (ex;calling your friend stupid and showing(hopefully) more respect to your parents). However if your split personality is more like Dr.Jekyle and Mr.Hyde, then talk to a local pastor, or someone you trust, the only solution i am absolutely sure of is taking Jesus Christ into your heart and becoming a christian, he has healed my life so many times, I admit to not being perfect, but i am forgiven and healed, you can be too.

Having multiple personality disorder or schizophrenia would classify you as being mentally ill, yes, no matter if you carry on as normal each day. If this is a serious inquiry, I would go get checked out by a professional. Seek help.

Have split personalities would mean you're ill. Maybe they are both productive and nice personalities but it's still not normal brain function.

While it is possible for people with multiple personalities to carry on normally, they will exhibit the signs/symptoms of the illness at times. Your best bet would be to go to a psychiatrist and get properly diagnosed

Being a healthcare professional for over 10 years now I've seen alot of people that suffer from schizophrenia (multiple personalities) I have never seen a case where one personality knows of the other one. Generally when they are one personality that's the one they live, then they switch, and that's the one they're living and so on. You should see your doctor you may be suffering from a Bipolar disorder. Good Luck :-)

People who have split personalities usually are not aware of them. It sounds to me as if you are bipolar. Bipolar people are regular people who have everyday lives. I'm betting you know some and don't even realize it. If you are having issues with your feelings and having a bad time with them, talk to your doctor. They can usually point you in the right direction, may it be therapy or meds. And no, I don't think you are going to crazy. You'll be ok.
