Allison Sweeney's character (Samy) on Days of Our lIves is completely idiotic but she is incredibly watchable for some reason. Her looks help also. Also the new Carly ( Robin Wright) on General Hospital is a great pick. Getting to your question though: All tv outside of the History channel, Discover and some PBS programs are a waste of time when you stop to think about it. Isn't escapism a waste of time truly.

Escapism. watching soaps are just like reading a book. you get to forget about everything for a couple of hours and laugh( a lot at the acting), cry, and sit on the edge of your seat. it is just a way to get away. just like this is!! a lot of people would say answers is a waste of time.

I love my soaps! so I don't think it's a waste of time. But to many other Im sure they feel it is a waste of time.

escapism until it takes over (like with my mom/she knows all the characters on her "shows") and now I think it is a waste of time
Course I am typing this while watching one so I guess I am in the wasteland now huh??

ok, how's this for soap opera's???? my mom would call us at work, WORK, mind you, and if we weren't there, she would leave a message that Dorian Lord or Erica Kane called!!!!!when we returned to the office, people would look at us funny, like, Dorian Lord called you!!??
