I am an hourly employee and have never received any overtime pay. How do I get him to pay up?

If you are an hourly employee and you have worked more than 8 hours in one day, then you are entitled to overtime pay on that day. If you are working more than 40 hours per week, then you are entitled to the overtime pay; time and a half at least. I would check corporate policy at your company, and present it to your boss. They cannot, and will not dispute your overtime pay if you present policy to them in black and white. Good luck!

Next election you vote for a liberal and not some Conservative ...
because you're afraid of higher taxes and gay marriage.
In nearly every European country this sort of thing is impossible because we have a strong LEFT side in politics.
My boss pays me for every minute I work and that's only right.
I probably pay a lot more taxes than you but surely not as much as you loose when you work and don't get paid.
I don't know about you but I'd Rather pay my government a bit more
so they can make strong labor laws than be at the boot heel of the corporate world

hey rockligthing all you have to do is ask, but id is difficult for you to confront your boss face to face leave a note, on top of his deks, with the hours he/she ows you after your shift. After all working overtime without pay it is against the law so you are in the strong side and the company can get in trouble if they refuse to pay especially if you have work off the clock, goo luck.

I guess if you have asked him and he is not doing much for you then you could go to HR and tell them...OR you can improvise and ask him if he will give you Lou time instead.. meaning you take the time off in time that he owes you.
If he is a jerk about it and you are really honest about your extra hours then go to the head of the HR or his boss and don't get mad but say it very nicely but still assertive. If nothing else then say no to OT... especially if they don't pay up.

Make sure you have proof of your time, and yes tell him you are going to go to the labor board. Is there anyone over your boss? Human Resources Department? File a complaint with the company before you go to labor board, you have to have a paper trail.
