depends. the one with college and high school students is real. sumo is real. the one with "The Rock" and "Hulk Hogan" isn't real. but altough they're acting, they can get hurt though.

I would say 99% fake. Occasionally a "shoot" happens. Something unexpected or a real punch or kick. A good example of this took place several years ago. Hall and Nash were wrestling the Nasty Boys. Hall was working stiff (not pulling his punches) and no selling the Nasties moves. Knobbs and Saggs took exception to this and beat the tar out of Scott Hall for real to teach him a lesson. The Nasties are two of wrestlings legit "Tough Guys".

First I am a wrestling coach, I search Y! answers by "wrestling -wwe" which filters most of the wwe questions and comments out. That being said, I think that pro wrestling questions should be under "Entertainment & Music" because pro wrestling is WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT! I know that the WWE superstars ARE ATHLETES but you will not find any WWE match information on ESPN! I have however watched collegiate wrestling on ESPN 2. FYI - Did you know that Dolph Ziggler, Nicholas Theodore "Nick" Nemeth, was a 3x All American wrestling champ from Kent State University!

well to be brutally honest part of it is and part is't the part that is is the athletisims like Chris benoits flying headbutts but even he gets injured if he does it in the wrong spot of his opponents.but the wrestlers do converce sometimes in the ring with eachother so the know what the other person knows what his oppenent is going to do like stone cold steve austins stunner people have to be in synce with him or they will end up paralized.and triple H's pedigrees he puts thier head at a certain point between his legs and then drops down on his knees. but it is a very carefully grafted stunt show but poeople are always saying it's fake it has to be or people would get paralized or killed. Brett The HITman Hart said if people are getting hurt your doing it wrong. yea most of it maybe fake but that is what is fun about it. and those ignorant people that say it's all fake I would love to see them try do a flying head but off a 20ft steel cage. with out injury with that being said I hope this don't stop them from watching wrestling it's like watching a stunt movie with out pads and helmets and safety ropes.

The end is predetermined, a lot of the punches are pulled. There are some things that cannot be faked. When you get slammed it does hurt, and yes they are taught how to minimize the amount of damage that a move would inflict. They're out there to entertain us and make a living doing things that I wish that I were in shape to do.

the brothers dim ought to go on the road a bit and follow the wrestling from town to town as they work the circuit.
It's the same match night after night, town after town. Choreographed, rehearsed. Same stupid brutes putting on their act.
It is real in that they are athletes. When a 280 pond man lifts another man of the same size over his head and smashes him down, it is so easy to make a mistake and cripple someone, it takes a huge amount of stamina and devotion to the art(?).

It's fake they act, but it's a real job. Look at it when one person is on the top rope he/she wouldn't just let the oppnet beat the person up. Injuries are most of the time fake but some are real. The blood is fake too.

The fights are partially staged, the contact force is fake (hitting with chairs, getting punched, kicked), but the "sport" requires a true athlete and a lot of practice to avoid serious injury.
To be able to backflip off a corner post and not get hurt takes a lot of talent

Wrestling itself is not real, but he injuries the that wrestler sustain are. If you don't believe me read up on Hulk Hoga, numerous knee sugeries and a metal plate because of his injuries due to wrestling.

it is sort of in between, the arguements they have are all fake, they are all friends in real life(when Eddie died, JBL was crying, but on the show he "hated him")the fighting is mostly real(notice that sometimes when they punch each other they barely make contact), the blood is always real.
Hey is that really Carlito who wrote that? Yeah right.
