Are most wars of history a result of government conflict or religious conflict?

The real "pain" and misery of history has been war... seems to me the citizens of the world would of lived in peace had it non been for politicians, and religious leaders and the conquest for power... am I right?

I believe there are conflicts and wars because man is greedy.

5) Threatening the independence and sovereignty of Iraq by belligerently changing its government by force and assaulting Iraq in a war of aggression.

Most of the wars I can recall have been over money/power/territory. Religion and government are the excuses the leaders use to get someone to show up to the battle.

Most wars are because someone wants something that belongs to someone else.
That can be found in almost every war.
