I'm just wondering if I'm expected to include the GED on my resume or not. It is necessary? Would it be lying not to?

Sixstring, I wouldn't judge other people...you don't know the circumstances for my quitting school. I wanted to stay in school but I had to raise a child by myself...

I guess it all depends if you've gone to college or not. If you have a college degree then the GED/HS diploma issue is a moot point (as you definitely need the latter to obtain the former). I don't have my HS diploma listed on my resume...

yes you should include all you school history do to the fact that you need it to get a job, company will give you a better chance at a good job with a GED or high school diploma. if you don't have it they more and like won't even give you a chance..

If you went further in your education I think that you should put that you have a GED. But if you didn't then you should just say your high school diploma it sounds a lot better.

List it as a GED. It's not a problem for most employers. GEDs carry weight these days and show that you were concerned enough to follow through with your education.

I would specify it as a GED. Most places don't care...a GED most likely means the same to employers as a full fledged diploma does.

I WOULDN'T. but then again , i received a high school diploma the old fashioned way , by staying in school and graduating with my class. I have a right to say this cause i'm tired of hearing about quitters getting everything handed to them.
