It seems like everywhere i go i see nothing but spoiled kids who disrespect their parents and get away with it. Why?

Parents are not allowed to parent anymore. Also, everyone is so wrapped up in feelings, now. How does being punished make little Timmy FEEL.. We dont want to hurt his feelings..... Children are becoming more and more obnoxious and disrespectful by the day. It is a parents responsibitliy to teach children how to be a respectful, responsible productive person. We are failing our children.

I think parents these days are just lazy. They put their kids in front of a tv, spend as little time as possible with them, and then wonder why the kids act out and misbehave. Discipline isn't parenting. Discipline is correction. If your ever in a position where you have to raise an object (because god forbid you have to hurt your hand) to a child to correct them, you've failed as a parent.

Because people today are always worried they are going to get in trouble for "child abuse". When I was a child in the 80s, it wasn't an issue. Today, people are too excited to accuse others of child abuse and it's ridiculous.

because they are afraid to smack their *** and set down some basic ground rules. with so much divorce it is hard to establish parental control. one parent is pitted against another.
